Using multiple food delivery apps like DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, or Skip the Dishes can be tough nowadays. Each app comes with its own tablet and dashboard.

This means that printing orders for the kitchen means you need complicated POS setups and pricey printers.

In this blog, we’ll explain how you can streamline your delivery app setup and make managing orders easier for your restaurant.

Which Printers Work with Uber Eats, DoorDash, and Grubhub?

Each delivery app supports different printers (check our FAQs below for more details). Depending on the app and model, you can usually find new printers for about $350 or used ones for around $250. Amazon is a good option for buying them, but we've also found some on eBay.

The Issue with Using One Bluetooth Printer for All Delivery Apps

Unfortunately, many delivery apps don’t support LAN or Wi-Fi printers, which means you’ll need to keep the printer close to your delivery tablets so the Bluetooth connection stays strong. If your operation is large and Bluetooth printers aren’t a good fit, we’ve shared some alternative solutions below.

Why You Shouldn’t Share One Bluetooth Printer Across Delivery Apps

If you connect multiple apps, like DoorDash and Uber Eats, to the same printer without proper integration, the apps may interfere with each other. This can cause a lot of orders to drop, especially if both apps try to print at the same time.

For example, if you're handling about 50 orders a day, you might see around 10 fail with this setup. The printed receipts from each app can also look quite different, making it harder for your staff as your order volume grows.

How to Combine Uber Eats, DoorDash, and Grubhub with One Printer

If using a Bluetooth connection to link your printer to apps like DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Grubhub isn’t working for you, third-party integrations can help you bring all your delivery apps together.

You should use a solution that combine all the major delivery apps (including DoorDash, Grubhub, Uber Eats, Skip the Dishes, and more) into one tablet. This way, you can connect your orders to a single kitchen printer or even link directly to your POS system. With this setup, you can use any printer that works with the solution you choose.

This solution should support all major printers:

  • Epson: All TM models, including Bluetooth and LAN
  • Star Micronics: Universal support for all Bluetooth, LAN, and Wi-Fi models

If you have a compatible POS system, we suggest using a POS integration instead. The right integration will automatically send orders from DoorDash, Grubhub, Uber Eats, and other delivery apps straight into your Point of Sale. This way, orders will print from your POS printer, so you won’t need extra printers cluttering your counter.

It’s important to have all your tickets look the same as your in-house orders, which helps your kitchen run more smoothly.

Don’t worry, the tickets will still include notes so you can tell the difference between in-house and third-party delivery orders.
